12.14.04 - Holiday Decorations

The railroad, in accordance with annual tradition, has been thoroughly decorated for the Holidays. From the trains to the grounds to the to the air to the Christmas Tree, these are the most lavish and complex decorations the railroad has ever had.

As usual, the trains have received some special treatment. The Pennsylvania Engine, the Stainz, the Shay, and the Red Switcher all received bows on their fronts (above). However, the other engines didn't have the appropriate front ends, and we ran out of bows.

Next up is the Annual Christmas Tree. Usually situated next to the shed, this light-up tree made its way to Legoland Fairgrounds (left). The tree itself lights up using built-in fiber-optics, while we have added a set of small colored lights and a string of beads for decoration. Both sets of lights are battery-powered.

We have put up another string of lights (far below), this time stretching from the Park at Town Plaza, passing over the Complex, the Yard, SERR School and a few sets of track, until finally coming down near WKYZ's morning studios.

We have strung some beads and four blue ornaments across the Signal Tower (left, second down). Beads were also strung around SERR School (left, fourth down). Following the path of the white lights up year-round, more beads were strung from Eric's Auto and across the Stations (pictured below). Over at the Fairgrounds, a nativity scene showing Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus, the three wise men, and some animals has been set up on the Stage (left, third down).

Some decorations were placed at Town Plaza. A trio of decorations were placed on the Apple Store above the Apple (left, fifth down) and some smaller ones were put at the Park and hung on a few of the buildings (below). Finally, an angel was situated on top of SERR School's skyscraper, one of the tallest structures at the railroad (left, fifth down).

When it's all decorated, the railroad is quite a sight to see, especially at night (far below). For New Year's nothing more complicated than a party is planned. But if a giant ball covered in lights should show up, well let you know. From all of us at E&A Trains, happy holidays.
